Stenkrith

Stenkrith Park is found on the outskirts of Kirkby Stephen. Here the river Eden cuts through a narrow limestone gorge under the road bridge of the B6259.
I often like to explore the limestone formations sculpted out by the force of water and erosion along this stretch of river, and it’s not hard to see why this area is rich in myth and legend…
